There is an evolution occurring in the semantics of dentistry relating to the Biomechancial functioning of teeth. A new term for the enamel compression dome of the tooth is now the Bio-dome. The tooth peripheral structure supporting the compression dome is now being described as the Bio-rim. These terms will be begin appearing in publications in the near future. I will use these terms in this case. A patient presented for a regular check up and a fracture was noted in the enamel in marginal ridge, reappearing between the two small occlusal amalgams. The tooth was vital and symptomless.
